Christian Faith Institute (CFI) is a Bible college that has
trained hundreds of men and women across Africa.
Since the establishment of this college in 2007, many
pastors and missionaries have been in contact with the bible college by recommending
their church members to the college. For they have seen the bible college as remedy
to the prevalent doctrine that reject suffering as an element of Christian faith.
Christian Faith Institute as a bible college believes in the
suffering of the saints; just as Jesus suffered outside the camp to bring salvation
to humanity, the college teaches that God can bring salvation to the entire
community through the suffering of His people.
Apostle Paul said “For you have been given not only the
privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for Him”
(Philippians 1:29). The same Apostle Paul clearly stated in his letter to
Timothy “In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will
be persecuted” (2Tim. 3:12).
The college believes that the Bible is inerrant and remains
the same for all generations and therefore, depends on the bible and the doctrine of
the Apostles who regarded Jesus not just as a suffering servant but also a serving
Lord.
The leadership style of Jesus who is the perfecter and finisher
of our faith is one thing the Bible college pays close attention to. Jesus ruled
through service, He forsook His divine nature and served those who He came to
seek and save. He was not a tax collector but gives to the poor and cares for
the weak. This is what Jesus told His disciple after He washed their feet “Do
you know what I have done to you? You call me Teacher and Lord, and you say
well. For so I am. If I then, your Lord and Teacher have washed your feet, you
also ought to wash one another’s feet.” (John. 13:12-14).
Jesus overcame enmity with love; "while we were without strength Christ died for us". He overcame division not by building walls between Jews and gentiles but by building bridges, therefore making peace between the two. He forgave those who wronged him and has given us the ministry of forgiveness.
With this, all those who came to the bible college with the
mind of becoming semi-god or master end up graduating with humble hearts, a
heart ready to love and serve the community rather than dominating. This teaching
is clearly seen in the life of the college staffs as they teach and labor with
students. For this reason, the bible college has no need to employ those who will take care of toilets
or the surrounding, the students clean everywhere. Students willingly labor
with those who are working on the college upcoming structures without taking
their status into consideration.
The College currently offers certificate in diploma, degree
and masters. About 60% of the college students are on scholarship; this is to eliminate
financial barrier so that those who have genuine call of God will be equipped
for the good news of Christ. Hostels for both male and females are been given
to students coming from far distance with free feeding attached to it.
