DYING FOR THE LOST

Not many people understand the statement of Jesus Christ when He said, “He who saves his life will lose it, but he who loses his life for My sake will save it.” (Matt. 16:25)

If Jesus Christ had tried to save Himself from shame, persecution, and death, His mission would have failed. But He gave Himself so that we all may live, and this is the same path for all who truly follow Him.

As a ministry, we have come to understand this truth. That is why we go beyond our human ability to ensure that we please the Lord, even if it costs us our comfort, possessions, source of income, or even our lives, as long as the distressed are reached. It is not because we have abundant resources at hand, but because we believe in God, who owns all resources and has commanded us to go.

For all these years, we have not embarked on what we think we can handle, but on what only God can handle. This is why we live by faith, and why we chose the name Christian Faith Ministries. We are all called to live by faith; therefore, we do not act based on circumstances or visible situations.

Despite the bad news of killings and conflicts across Nigeria, especially in the northern region, Christian Faith Ministries continues to fearlessly take the Gospel to persecuted communities and rural areas where lives are constantly under threat. Most of CFM’s mission stations are located in communities vulnerable to bandit attacks and repeated terrorism. Yet hundreds of missionaries under CFM have sacrificed their lives and comfort to reach the lost, without considering the possible consequences.

This is our calling: to live for Christ. And living for Christ means dying to self, dying for the lost, and losing our lives so that we may find them in Christ. Just as in the early days of the Church, where persecution advanced the spread of the Gospel, CFM has not been controlled or conquered by fear, but moved by faith to reach the lost no matter the cost.

Today, CFM has over 300 mission stations, and up to 300 missionaries receive a monthly salary from CFM. Considering the difficulties involved in sourcing these funds, it shows what it truly means to live for Christ. To live for Christ must cost us something — our hearts, our strength, our resources, and our total commitment.

Not only does CFM support these missionaries financially, but many of their children are also under the care of the ministry, receiving free education, clothing, medical care, feeding, and other necessities. This is done to ease the burdens on the missionaries so they can focus fully on preaching the Gospel and reaching the lost.

Please continue to pray for CFM, as much is needed to sustain this work and continue advancing the Gospel in difficult places.
