Christian Faith Institute Has Taught Me Humility

One of the greatest virtues in Christian faith or Christian community is humility. Therefore, if humility is the only thing one has learnt in an institution like Christian Faith Institute (CFI), it an achievement worth celebrating.

Samali Jonah, a student of Christian Faith Institute spoke with the media and communication on how God has changed his life during his four years of study in the college. Samali Jonah knew about Christian Faith Institute through a pastor in Gombe. According to him, when the pastor asked what he would like to do after completing his secondary education, he told the pastor that he would like to serve God and as a result of his plan, he was thinking about going to a bible college. It was at this point the pastor told him about Christian Faith Institute. And after a talk with his parents, they all agreed that he should come.

Somali intended to spend only two years in Christian Faith Institute and therefore applied for a diploma programme. But after the expiration of his two years study, according to him, he found the truth and that made him to go further and apply for a degree programme, to learn more about this truth.

In his words, “In Christian Faith Institute, I have received a balanced theology. I used to be spiritual about everything in the sense that I was not conscious of my neighbor or environment around me. But now, I have learnt that spirituality has to do with both God, man and environment as well as loving or taking care of the needy. CFI is a place I wish everyone to be. I was irresponsible and lazy, but Christian Faith Institute has taught me to be responsible. I was a very proud person but Christian Faith Institute has taught me humility. I have been retouched both physically and spiritually. Before I came, I was not able to operate a computer, but now I am able. In CFI, I have also learnt some skills like aluminum works and shoe making. I can now make shoes for someone. There is no way you will come to CFI and go back the same. I really appreciate God”.

Somali is left with just a few weeks to finish his degree programme. He needs prayers to remain steadfast in delivering the truth amidst ravenous wolves around the corner.
