In a society where almost everyone has been deeply wounded by harsh circumstances, and where nearly every wall if not completely torn down, bears cracks that testify to conflict and suffering, hope can seem almost impossible to find. In communities where men and women are murdered in large numbers and children are left homeless, it often appears impossible to see faces, especially those of children, still shining with hope.
This has
become the reality of many homes, particularly in Nigeria, where insurgency and
armed banditry have become common household terms. Dreams are shattered, and
hope is buried beneath the rubble. Visions are clouded by fear, pain, and
anxiety, while dreams are replaced with nightmares, making hope seem like an
irretrievable part of the past.
Yes, the
situation is difficult—but it is not impossible.
Jesus
Christ came as the giver of hope to the displaced and the lost, and He has made
us ambassadors of that hope. Sin displaced humanity, leaving our condition
worse than that of a man struck down by bullets and buried beneath ruins. Yet,
God stepped into the garden with a message of hope and redemption.
We are
called for this purpose. Unlike many who simply report tragedies and profit
from human suffering without offering solutions or hope, we are called to
surrender our comfort and lay down our lives so that the broken may live again.
Our God is
the God of hope, and as His followers, we are sons and daughters of hope.
Year after
year, Christian Faith Institute receives students from communities torn apart
by violence and hardship. Many arrive carrying nothing but a worn-out polythene
bag that itself appears to have survived near destruction. They walk through
our gates to study either at the Bible College or in the Crisis Home, where
their hope can be rebuilt.
Many of
them never ask for the opportunity themselves; Christian Faith Ministries
reaches out and invites them because so many believe they cannot be accepted
due to their physical condition or financial struggles. This is why CFM takes
on the responsibility of feeding, training, and equipping them freely. After
all, where would such individuals find the means to pay for the very support
they need to rebuild their future?
It is a
rare privilege to play a positive role in restoring lost hope, and Christian
Faith Ministries stands firmly for this purpose. It is truly fulfilling to
witness those who once walked through the gates with broken hearts, and within
a short time, see their faces shining with renewed confidence and unwavering
hope.
As
ambassadors of hope, this is what we are called to do—whether it is convenient
or not. Nothing is more important than obeying the Master’s command. Therefore,
we continue to build lives with hope, faith, and love.
